Alarms

Alarms help you to point out the device if it is down, lost connectivity or any of its monitored parameter violates the set limits etc. Here the alarms are listed along with Alarm Severity icon, Source, Alarm Message, Category, Date/Time, Customer and Probe.  You can acknowledge, Unacknowledge, clear or delete the selected alarms by clicking on Acknowledge, Unacknowledge, Clear or Delete buttons respectively. You can also filter the alarms by status, time duration, severity, category and customer wise from All Status, All Alarms, All Severity, All Categories and All Customers options respectively.

On clicking the source you can view the
snapshot page of that device. On clicking the alarm message you can view the Alarm Details.

On clicking the Alarms tab
all the active alarms will be listed by default. Mouse-over Alarms tab and from the down arrow select any of the following
Devices to watch
Here the devices for which the alarm has generated can be viewed. By clicking on the device you can view its
snapshot page. You can filter the devices by Default Order, Name, Display Name, Device Type and Severity by selecting the desired one from SortBy. You can also filter by customer wise.

Unsolicited Traps
MSP Center Plus listens for SNMP traps from devices on the default port 162. It automatically acts as a trap receiver and processes the traps into alarms. Traps which are not processed as alarms are classified as unsolicited traps. Here all the unsolicited traps are listed.

All Alarms
Here all the alarms that are generated will be displayed.

Active Alarms
Here the alarms that are not yet cleared can be viewed.

Windows Events
The alarms that are generated based on the Windows Event Logs will be displayed. Here the windows events are listed with Alarm Severity icon, Source, Alarm Message, Category and Date/Time.

Alarm Details
Here you can view the details of the alarm of a device like Source, Severity, Last Updated, Message and Technician. Here you can also find the Event History and Notes of that device. Event History displays the recent alarms that are generated for that device for a particular event ID with Status, Date/Time and Message. Notes contains brief note about that device/alarm. You can do more actions like acknowledge, delete or clear etc. on the alarm by clicking the Alarm Actions and selecting the desired action.

Alarm Actions
Depending upon the alarm that is selected the allowed actions on it may vary. The Alarm Actions are
  • Acknowledge: Acknowledges the alarm.
  • Clear: Clears the alarm.
  • Delete: Deletes the alarm.
  • Add Notes: You can add brief notes and click on annotate to display it in the Notes box.
  • Ignore Eventlog: Ignores this event log.
  • Event ID Details: You can view the details of that particular event ID.
