MSP Center Plus offers an integrated software for managed service providers to remotely monitor network devices, manage desktops and servers, handle helpdesk requests, and manage onsite visits effectively from a single integrated console. MSP Center Plus offers two different architectures. One is the Probe - Central and the other is Agent - Central.

Probe - Central Architecture

The Probe-Central Architecture performs the network monitoring and Helpdesk & Service Automation operations. Central is installed at the NOC, while the Probe is installed at the client's location. Its enough that one Probe is installed per client and no need to install in all the machines that have to be monitored. A single Probe effectively handles more than 2000 devices.

Probe inorder to discover the devices, broadcasts 4 ping packets across the network. Devices that respond to the ping packets are discovered. Post discovery, Probe periodically monitors the devices for various performance metrics by polling the devices at regular intervals using SNMP or WMI protocols. Probe communicates to the Central every 5 seconds once via a secured https connection to (1) get the details on the tasks to be performed and (2) to update the polled data. Central does not send any data to the Probe.

Bandwidth Consumed:
Probe for monitoring 100 Servers, 3 Switches, 3 Routers, 2 Firewalls and 2 Printers consumes approximately 47Kbps. For communicating with the Central, it consumes approximately 0.2kbps.

Data Collection Threads:
By default, the Probe uses 12 threads for SNMP polling and 12 threads for WMI polling.

Agent - Central Architecture

The Agent - Central architecture helps you perfom the remote desktop activities such as install patches, implement power management schemes, start/stop services, execute script, improve security, etc. Agents are installed on the machines which need to be managed remotely. Agent contacts the Central server via a secured https connection every 5 minutes once and gets the (i) details about the tasks to be performed and also checks whether is there any requirement to establish a remote connection. Central does not send any data to the agent too.
