How Tos > CTRL ALT DEL on Win 2008 and Vista
Executing CTRL+ALT+DEL action on Windows 2008 & Vista machines via Remote ControlWhen you send a CTRL+ALT+DEL command to the Vista machine from the Central Server via the Remote control viewer, the command does not work due the security features in Windows 2008 & Vista. To make the command get executed on remote Windows 2008 & Vista machines do the following configurations on those machines:
1)Enable Vista UAC: - Run MsConfig from Run Option.
- In System configuration Window, Click on the tools tab.
- Scroll down and locate "Enable UAP" or "Enable UAC" option item.Click on that line.
- A command prompt window will open & automatically execute and run certain process to Enable UAC.
- Close CMD window when done and Close MsConfig.
- Restart Computer for changes to apply.
2)Set the Policy : - Run Gpedit.msc from Run Option.
- Goto "Computer Configuration" -> "Admin Templates" -> "Windows Components" -> "Windows Logon Options"
- In Windows LogOn Option , double click "Disable enable software Secure Attention Sequence"
- Select "Enable" option and "Services and Ease of Access application"
- Click Ok.
