Choose Target

This option helps you to choose the computers, groups or customers on which you have to deploy a configuration, template or a task.
Parameter
Description
Select a Customer
Select the customer on which you have to execute a task.
Apply to
Select any of the following.
  • Customer: The task will be executed on all the systems of the selected customer.
  • Computer: The task will be executed on the specified computers of the selected customer.
  • Custom Group: The task will be executed on the specified groups of the selected customer.
Customer Name/Computer Name/Custom Group
Depending upon the Apply to option selected this field will get changed. If the Apply To option is selected as Customer, then the customer name will be displayed here. If Computer option is selected, then you can browse the computers by clicking on Browse button or if the Custom Group is selected, then you can browse the groups. Note: Multiple values can be entered by using a comma (,).

Exclude Target
This option is used to exclude the specified computers or groups from deploying the tasks on them.

Description
Target Type
This varies according to the Apply to option that is selected. In the Apply To option if Customer is selected then you can browse the computer and/or group of the customer. In the Apply To option if Computer/Custom Group is selected then this field will be disabled and displays "No Target to Exclude".
Operating System
The systems of the below selected OS type will be excluded.
  • Win 2000
  • Win 2003
  • Win XP
  • Win Vista
Machine Type
The systems of the below selected type will be excluded.
  • Notebook
  • Member Server
  • Tablet PC
  • TermServClient
  • Desktop
  • Domain Controller

Click on Add More Targets to will the add this target in the List of Targets of a particular configuration or template. This is optional. You edit or delete the target by clicking on modify icon or delete icon .
