Device SnapshotSnapshot page shows the details of
the device, monitors that are enabled, notification profiles
associated, recent alarms generated etc. To view the snaphot page of
the device click on the device name in the map or enter the device name
or IP Address in the Device Search box and click on Go. If many devices
match the details provided in the search box, they are listed with
their IP Address and category. Click on the device name to view its
snapshot page. Snapshot page provides the following details and Actions
that are possible on the device. Note: The above details and actions what are applicable to the device selected will only be displayed.
Device Details Here the Name, Status, IP Address, Category, Type, Customer Name, Traffic Counter, Dependency, Monitoring, System Description and Passwords details will be displayed. You can change the values that are available in IP Address, Category, Type, Traffic counter, Dependency, Monitoring and Passwords
fields by clicking on their values and selecting/entering the desired
value. Here also the recent alarms that are generated will be displayed.
Device Notes Here the additional details like Model, Part number, Serial number, Floor, Building, Country etc. will be displayed. The fields that are selected in the Additional Fields under Admin tab will be displayed here. To add values to these fields click on edit notes icon and enter the values in the fields and click on OK. To add or remove fields that are already defined, click on Add More Details and select or deselect the desired field and click on Save. To create a new field click on Add New Field (Admin-> Additional Fields).
Today's Availability Displays
the current day's availability of the device in the form a pie chart.
On clicking the pie chart you can view the availability report of the
device for the last 24 hours. Click on or to view the availability report of the device for the past 7 or 30 days respectively. Response Time Displays the current response time of the device in milli seconds. Click on or to view the availability report of the device for the past 7 or 30 days respectively. Click on to enable, disable or modify the threshold settings.
Today's Packet Loss Displays the current day's packet loss of the device in terms of percentage. Click on or to view the availability report of the device for the past 7 or 30 days respectively. Click on to enable, disable or modify the threshold settings.
CPU Utilization Displays
the amount of CPU being utilized currently in terms of percentage. By
clicking on the dial you can view the report of the CPU utilized today
in the form of a graph. Click on to view the top 10 processes that utilize the CPU. You can end processes by selecting the desired processes and clicking on End Process. Click on or to view the CPU utilization report of the device for the past 7 or 30 days respectively.
Memory Utilization Displays
the amount of memory being utilized currently in terms of percentage.
By clicking on the dial you can view the report of the memory utilized
today in the form of a graph. Click on to view the top 10 processes that utilize the memory. Click on or to view the memory utilization report of the device for the past 7 or 30 days respectively.
Disk Utilization Displays
the amount of disk space being utilized as of now in the form of a pie
chart. By clicking on the pie chart you can view the report of the disk
space utilized today in the form of a graph. Click on or to view the disk utilization report of the device for the past 7 or 30 days respectively.
Temperature Monitors temperature of the chassis.
Connection Count Displays the count of the connections that are currently in use.
URL Details Displays the URL Monitor name, Status, URL Address, Type, Match Content, Last Alarm, Last Polled at and Next Poll at details.
URL Response Time Graph Here the response time of the URL for every fixed time duration is plotted as a graph. Click on to zoom the graph. Click on or to view the response time report of the URL for the past 7 or 30 days respectively.
UPS Load, UPS Status & Battery Status Displays the current load handled by the UPS in terms of percentage, UPS status whether On line or not and the battery status like Runtime remaining, battery health etc. By clicking on the UPS load dial you can view the report of the load handled by the UPS in the form of a graph.
Active Directory The active directory displays whether the Operations master roles i.e., PDC Emulator, Infrastructure Master, RID Master, Domain Naming Master and Schema Master are running or not. The CPU usage, RAM usage, File reads, File writes, handles of LSASS and NTFRS processes are also displayed. The diskspace used by the Active Directory is also given. Network and Performance counters details are also displayed here. By clicking on their values you can view the report of the same in the form of a graph. Note: To enable active directory monitoring, you have to configure an administrator username and password for the device.
Active Directory Monitors Active Directory Monitors are categorized according to the parameters of the active directory which they monitor. For example if they monitor some of the LSASS process, then they are called as LSASS process monitors. If they monitor database related parameters, then they are classified as Database monitors. Click on the Active directory monitor categories to view the monitors that are associated. You can add or remove active directory monitors of a category.To add a monitor click on Add Monitor. To remove a monitor select the desired monitor and click on Remove. If no active directory monitors are associated with the device click on Click here to add the atcive directory monitors of that category.
Add Active Directory Monitors To add active directory monitor(s) select the desired active directory monitor(s) and configure their polling intervals and threshold values if required and click on Add.
Monitors Monitors
are categorized according to the parameters of the device which they
monitor. For example if they monitor resources like CPU, Disk space
etc. they are categorized as Resource monitors, if they monitor URLs
then they are categorized as URL monitors and so on. By default the
monitor categories that are applicable for the device will be
displayed. Click on the monitor category to view the monitors of that
category that are associated to the device. You can add or remove
monitors of a category. To add a monitor click on Add Monitor. To remove a monitor select the monitor and click on Remove. If no monitor of is associated, then click on Click here to add monitors of that category.
Add Monitor To add monitor(s) select the desired monitor(s) of the appropriate type (SNMP/WMI/Telnet based) and click on OK.
Notification Profile Displays
the notification profile that has been associated to the device. You
add or remove notification profile(s). To add notification profile(s)
click on Add Profile and select the desired profile(s) and click on OK. To remove notification profile(s) select the desired profile(s) and click on Remove. If no notification profile is associated to the device then click on Click here
to add notification profile(s). The notification profiles that are
created already will only be available for selection. To create a new
profile go to Admin-> Notification profiles.
Interfaces Displays
the interfaces that are available in the device along with their status
and other details like In Speed, Rx Traffic, Tx Utilization etc. By
clicking on the display name or description you can view the snapshot
page of the interface. If you have integrated with NetFlow, then you will find the NetFlow icons displayed above the graph. By clicking on these NetFlow icons, the netflow details will be opened in a pop-up.
You can rediscover the interfaces by clicking on
Rediscovery. You can also remove interface(s). To remove interface(s)
select the desired interface(s) and click on remove. Interface snapshot displays the interface details, todays availability pie chart, interface traffic, interface utilization and interface errors & discard details.
Remote Desktop This will be displayed if the remote desktop agent is not installed in the Windows device. Click on Install icon to install the agent. The devices which have this agent installed will not display this field in their snapshot page.
Actions You can perform any of the actions that are given below
- Remote Control: Allows you to control the device remotely.
- Test URL: Tests the URL whether it is Up or Down.
- Update Status: Updates the device status.
- Rediscover Now: Rediscovers the device.
- Ping: Shows the ping results of the device.
- Trace Route: Shows the hop count.
- Show Alarms: Shows the alarms of the device.
- Monitoring: Allows you to change the monitoring interval and to enable or disable polling for this device.
- Event Log Rules: Allows you to add or remove the event log rules.
- URL Monitor: Shows the URL that are monitored.
- Delete: Removes the device from the client.
- Manage/UnManage: The device can be managed or unmanaged by the client.
- Configure Interfaces: Allows you to configure interfaces.
- Configure Ports: Allows you to configure ports
- Telnet/SSH: Allows to establish session via Telnet/SSH.
- RunBook: Allows you to add step by step procedures, files and contact details for this device.
- Custom Report: Allows you to generate custom report for the device.
Note: The actions that are applicable for the device selected will only be displayed under the Actions tab. Help Desk Here you can create new request and view existing requests made for the device. To add a new request click on New Request. To view existing requests click on View Requests.
Configure URL Here you can edit the URL monitor and enable/disable/modify the Threshold settings. Click on URL Monitor to edit the configurations of the selected URL. Click on Threshold settings to enable/disable/modify the threshold settings.
