Discover Devices by IP Range

MSP Center Plus provides you the option to discover the devices by IP range. Follow the steps given below on the Probe side to discover the devices that are in a specific IP range
  1. Open the seed.file [\probe\conf].
  2. At the end of the file before the </seed> tag add the following syntax
    <TO_DISCOVER>
       <net NETWORK_ID="X.X.X.X" NETMASK="Y.Y.Y.Y" START_IP="Z.Z.Z.Z"   END_IP="W.W.W.W" />
    </TO_DISCOVER>

  3. Enter the Network ID, Netmask, Start IP and End IP.

    Example:

    Note: All these syntaxes are defined with examples in the seed.file itself for your reference.
  4. Save the file and restart the Probe service.
After completing the above steps, if you discover the devices from the Central web client, only the devices that are in the IP range (that is provided in the above steps) will only be discovered for that particular probe.  But devices that are restricted from being discovered will not be discovered even if they fall under the provided IP range.

Note: You can also add the syntax for restricted certain devices from being discovered after the syntax provided for discovering devices by IP range.
