Discovery

Devices that must be monitored have to be discovered first (which is nothing but importing into MSP Center Plus' control). You have the option either to discover a network or device. Click on DiscoverNetwork [Network Monitoring-> Admin] to add a network and click on Add Device [Network Monitoring-> Admin] to add a single device.

Discover Network
You can discover networks by connecting to the Central Server's Web Client. If you have deployed Customer-specific Probes, you can also add networks for discovery from the Probes Web Client.
To add a network configure the following fields

Parameter	Description
Add Network By	Select any one of the following. Network IP: This option will allow you to add the network by entering its IP. Import From File: This option will allow you to import the networks IP from a file. Click on View Sample File Format to view the accepted file formats. Multiple networks can be added with this option.
IP Address/Import From File	This field varies according to the option selected in the Add Network By field. If Network IP is selected, then enter the IP Address in this field. If Import From File is selected then click on Browse button to locate the file.
Probe	Select the probe which has to monitor this network. You can also add a new probe by clicking Add new Probe.
Customer	Select the customer. You can add new customer by clicking on Add new Customer.
Netmask	Select the correct netmask.

Click on Add Network to add this network.

In the Add New Network page [Network Monitoring-> Admin] the discovered networks are listed along with customer name and netmask. You can manage or unmanage these networks. Click on  to manage a unmanaged network and click on  to manage a unmanaged network. You can rediscover by clicking on rediscover icon . The discovery status of the network is also displayed  Discovery finished , Discovery stopped  or Discovery pending . You can also delete networks by selecting the desired networks and clicking on Delete button.

Add Device
This option helps you to add devices. 

Parameter	Description
Add Device By	Select any one of the following. Device Name/IP Address: This option will allow you to add the device by entering its name or IP. Import From File: This option will allow you to import the devices name or address from a file. Click on View Sample File Format to view the accepted file formats. Multiple devices can be added with this option.
Device Name/IP Address / Import From File	This field varies according to the option selected in the Add Device By field. If Device Name/IP Address is selected, then enter the Device name or IP Address in this field. If Import From File is selected then click on Browse button to locate the file.
Netmask	Select the correct netmask.
Probe	Select the probe. You can also add a new probe by clicking Add new Probe.
Customer	Select the customer. You can add new customer by clicking on Add new Customer.
SNMP Port	Specify the SNMP port (default is 161)
Community String	Specify the SNMP read community string

Click on Add Device to add this network.
