The probes can be deployed either exclusively for a customer or can be shared between customers. A customer can deploy any number of Probes based on the requirement. To install a probe, consider the following steps:
  1. Download the Probe from either Central web client.
  2. Generate and download the probe key
  3. Install the probe
Downloading Probe from the Central web client
The Probe.exe can also be downloaded from the central web client. Here are the steps to download probe.exe:
  1. Go to Network Monitoring-> Admin-> Probes. Probes page opens.

  2. Mouse-over Download Probe drop down menu and click Probe.exe.
A download window pop-us asking you to save the probe.exe file.

Generate Probe Key/Add Probes
To generate a probe key first add a probe. To add a probe consider the following steps.
  1. From the Central web client, go to Network Monitoring > Admin > Probes.
  2. Mouse over Actions tab and click on Add Probes. Add Probe page opens.

  3. Enter the Probe Name.The Probe name must be unique. Even don't use the name of Probe that you have deleted.
  4. Specify the Email ID to which the notifications must be sent when the Probe goes down.
  5. Click on Locate here to select the Probe's location. Add/Update location window opens.


    1. Enter the Location Name.
    2. Click Submit.
    You can specify the Probe's location (Eg. California). This option helps you to view all your probe on Google Map. You can also know the status of the Probes. You can set this as your default view whenever you login into the Central web client.


  6. Select the Yes/No options to specify if the Probe is specific to a customer or if it is going to be Shared Probe (shared among customers). Shared Probe can be installed in the same local network where the Central is installed. They can communicate with the Central server using Central server's internal IP address.
  7. Click Save.
The Probe is added now and an initialization zip file <Probe Name>_key.zip is created and will be available in the Central Web client for download.

Install Probe 
  1. Download the key files from Network Monitoring > Admin > Probes by clicking on the Download probe key icon  available under Download Probe Keys column to the machine where the respective Probes are to be installed.
  2. Execute the probe exe to install it. Select appropriate options and locate the probe key in the installation wizard to install the Probe. See the reference screenshots below.
