Integrate ServiceDeskPlus with MSP Center Plus

To integrate ServiceDeskPlus with MSP Center Plus consider the following steps.

  1. Open the serverparameter.conf file [<central home>\conf directory].
  2. Change the SERVICEDESK_INTEGRATION false to SERVICEDESK_INTEGRATION true.
  3. If you have a license already,which you got from AdventNet with Helpdesk Add-On disabled, then you can proceed to step 4.Otherwise mail us at support@mspcenterplus.com to get the new license inorder to disable the existing helpdesk add on  feature. After getting the license from us proceed to step4.
  4. Save the license-file locally and go to MSP Dashboard and click on Register link. Then click on Browse to locate the license that is saved locally and click on Register button.
  5. Restart the Central.
  6. From Central go to Network Monitoring-> Admin-> Add-On/Product Settings-> ServiceDesk Settings.
  7. Enter the external ServiceDesk's server name, port, username and password.
  8. Enter the Helpdesk EmailId (the mailId which is used in ServiceDeskPlus MailServerSettings--> Incoming). All MSP related alarms will be sent as a mail to this MailId. These mails will be fetched by the ServiceDesk and converted into Tickets thus converting an 'MSP Alarm'--> 'SDP Ticket'. Also give a valid EmailId for the From Email Address.
  9. Then click on Test Connection and Save button. This should display Successfully tested and added the ServiceDeskPlus server details. If not and shows some messages like not able to contact then contact our support team.
  10. Then create a Log a Ticket notification profile and associate to the devices/probes. Hence if alarms are generated for the devices which have the Log a Ticket notification profile associated, then a new ticket will be created in the ServiceDeskPlus server.

Note: In MSP Center Plus by default the local Integrated-Helpdesk Add-On is enabled.If you have to integrate the external ServiceDeskPlus then you have to re-apply the license(which does not have Helpdesk Add-On).
