To send email alerts
the Mail server has to be configured first. The mail id mentioned here
is the default ID to which all notifications will be sent.
Go to Network Monitoring-> Admin and click Mail Server Settings.
Enter the Server name.
Enter the Port number. Default value is 25.
Select Secure Mode to be secured. This is optional.
Select Requires Authentication to enter the User name and Password, if the server requires authentication to send email.
Enter the email ID. If required you can also send a test mail to the ID by clicking on Send a test message button.
You
can add a secondary mail server which enables you to get notifications
if the primary server is down. This is optional. To enable secondary mail server select Add a Secondary mail server option and configure the server settings.
Click on OK.
SMS Server Settings
Configuring this setting (Network Monitoring-> Admin-> SMS Server Settings) helps you to receive SMS notifications. Enter
the PORT NUMBER to which the Modem is connected. Also ensure the
following.
Modems that support for SMS notifications are used.
Whether the GSM modem is connected to the serial port.
Serial cable used for connectivity.
Note: If the alert message exceeds 160 characters then the notification will be dispatched in two or more sms.
