The steady increase in network vulnerabilities and the sheer volume of software patches has created a need for strict and efficient patch management in enterprises to avoid business downtime and to secure themselves against mishaps due to attacks. Desktop Management with its Patch Management module manages patches effectively. With Desktop Management the system administrators have gained the ability to respond to computer threats in quick time.



Here [Desktop Management-> Patch] the Patch status and System Health details by customer wise is given. Patch status consists of the  count of Missing, Installed and Total patches. System health shows the count of Highly Vulnerable, Vulnerable, Healthy and Total systems. If patch related information is not available then initiate the network scan by clicking on Configure Patch Scan Now link.

Customer
By clicking on the Customer name you can view the Patch Status Summary and System Health Summary. Under Patch Status Summary the count of Applicable, Missing, Installed and New patches will be listed. Under System Health Summary the count of Managed Systems, Highly Vulnerable Systems, Vulnerable Systems and Healthy Systems will be displayed.

Patch Status
By clicking on the count of any of the patch status i.e., Missing or Installed or Total, you can view the list and graph/chart of that corresponding patches (Missing, Installed or Total).
You can click the Pie chart icon to view the pie chart or Bar Graph icon  to view the bar graph.

System Health
By clicking on the count of Highly Vulnerable, Vulnerable or Healthy systems you can view the list of the computers along with the details of the patches. By clicking on the count of the Total systems you can view the System Health Summary graph/chart and Patch Status Summary graph/chart and the list of the computers along with the details of the patches.

Vulnerability DB Update Details
The vulnerability or the patch database is a baseline against which the available and missing patches in the machines are determined. The database is periodically refreshed with latest information and placed in the Central Patch Repository at the AdventNet site. To Synchronize the Vulnerability and to Schedule to update the vulnerability DB go to Desktop Management-> Patch and configure the following.

Last Vulnerability DB Update: Shows the date and time when the last Vulnerability database has been updated. You have a link Sync Now inorder to update the vulnerability database from the Central Patch Repository.
Next Vulnerability DB Update: Shows the date and time when the next Vulnerability database update has to begin. By clicking on Change you can change the date and time [Vulnerability DB update can also be done from Desktop Management-> Admin-> Schedule Vulnerability Update].

Patch Scan Details
With MSP Center Plus you can schedule patch scan. To schedule the Patch scan go to Desktop Management-> Patch and under Patch Scan Details configure the following.

Last Scheduled Scan Completed: Shows the date and time when the last patch scan has been completed.
Next Scheduled Scan: Shows the date and time when the next scan has to begin.
By clicking on Change you can change the date and time.

Patch Deployment Settings
Automatic Patch Deployment: This option allows you to configure patch scan and deployment settings. Click on
Configure Now to create/modify patch scan and deployment.
