Running Probe service if it is marked as an Interactive Service

Enabling Probe service if it is marked as an Interactive service

If the Probe service is marked as an Interactive service by Windows Vista or 2008, and you have blocked the interactive services, then you need to allow them for the Probe service to run properly. Also follow the steps given below to ensure that the service runs smoothly:
  1. Stop the probe service.
  2. Go to task manager and kill java.exe, mysqld-nt.exe, rmiregistry.exe, wrapper.exe.
  3. Right click on the below mentioned files and change their compatibility to windows 2003 or xp.

    startdms.bat present under probe\bin folder
    startmysql.bat present under probe\bin folder
    mysqld-nt.exe present under probe\mysql\bin folder
    java.exe present under probe\jre\bin folder
    rmiregistry.exe present under probe\jre\bin folder
Start the probe using the command startdms.bat from probe\bin folder and check whether it works fine.

Enabling Central service if it is marked as an Interactive service


  1. Stop the central service.
  2. Go to task manager and kill java.exe, mysqld-nt.exe, rmiregistry.exe, wrapper.exe.
  3. Right click on the below mentioned files and change their compatibility to windows 2003 or xp.

    startdms.bat present under central\bin folder
    startmysql.bat present under central\bin folder
    mysqld-nt.exe present under central\mysql\bin folder
    java.exe present under central\jre\bin folder
    rmiregistry.exe present under central\jre\bin folder
Start the central using the command startopmanagerserver.bat from probe\bin folder and check whether it works fine.
