Remote Control

MSP Center Plus offers web based Remote Control access to your clients' Windows Desktops and Servers. As the remote control connection is established via internet, it is secure at the same time helps you access from anywhere. The Remote Control feature is an equivalent to VNC, PcAnywhere etc. For accessing the remote machine, you need to establish the connection first. To establish a connection, click on the "Connect" link (Desktop Management-> Remote Control).

To access the desktop click on the "View Desktop" link.

If you click on the "Connect" link, a request is created for the particular agent. The agent installed on the end machine will poll the Central on port 443 every 5 seconds once for any such connection request. On receiving the connection request, the agent will initialize the remote control service and will try to connect the Central on port 8443. Therefore open the port 8443 of the firewall on the customer's side to allow outbound traffic.

Connection Failure:
The reasons for connection failure

  • End machine may be down
  • DesktopCentral Agent may have crashed

If connection is established, but you are unable to access the device, then

  • Check whether the end machine allows outbound traffic on 8443
